According to the Daily Mail, Manager Mauricio Pochettino wants Chelsea to secure the services of 4 additional signings before the official closing of the summer 2023 transfer market.
As of this point in the summer 2023 transfer window, Chelsea has acquired 5 notable signings including Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, Robert Sanchez, Lesley Ugochukwu, and Axel Disasi.
However, Manager Mauricio Pochettino still aims to bring in more players. The Argentine strategist hopes that The Blues can secure 4 more marquee signings in the remaining part of the summer 2023 transfer window.
Chelsea’s current priorities lie in the central midfield and striker positions. Manager Pochettino requires at least 2 central midfielders to strengthen the midfield, given that The Blues have parted ways with 2 key pillars, Kante and Kovacic, in the summer 2023 transfer window.
Currently, Moises Caicedo is Chelsea’s top target for the central midfield role. However, with this deal hitting an impasse, Stamford Bridge’s club has lined up 2 alternative options: Tyler Adams (Leeds United) and Leandro Paredes (PSG).
Furthermore, Chelsea also needs to bolster their striker position due to Nkunku’s severe injury. Vlahovic is a name being considered by Chelsea for this role. It’s highly likely that The Blues will soon submit an offer to Juventus, including a transfer fee plus Lukaku, in exchange for the presence of the Serbian forward.
The summer 2023 transfer window deadline falls at the end of August. Chelsea still has around 3 weeks to search for quality additions, with the aim of achieving their goals for the 2023/24 season.
